Coaches Comments
“Mark is an excellent defender. He is also very good on the ball and an asset on set plays for us. He also contributes a lot to a team both on and off the field.”
Professional Career
Schulte comes to the RailHawks after two successful seasons with the Cleveland City Stars. He was twice named the USL-2 Defender of the Year and he was named the MVP of the USL-2 championship game after leading the Stars to a 2-1 victory over the Charlotte Eagles. After the 2008 USL-2 season, Schulte joined the USL-1’s Minnesota Thunder on loan, and he helped them qualify for the postseason. Schulte previously played for the Thunder in 2000-03. In 2005, he played with Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew. In 2003, he played for Iceland’s IBV Vestmannaeyjar and helped it qualify for the UEFA Cup. In 2006, he signed with Montevideo Wanderers of Uruguay’s first division.
