The Carolina RailHawks partnered with local Chevrolet dealers of the Triangle to host youth clinics on Tuesday and Wednesday. Over 180 boys and girls, ages 6-14, filled WakeMed Soccer Park to receive a two-and-a-half-hour free soccer clinic. RailHawks players led participants in drills, working on dribbling, passing and shooting.  Chevrolet continues there strong community efforts and support of soccer, having donated over $50,000 to youth soccer in Raleigh over the past 3 years.

“Chevrolet has a rich history of being a major supporter of soccer on both the youth and professional levels,” said Mike Wilkes, RailHawks Vice-President of Corporate Partnerships.  “They (Chevrolet) place an emphasis on giving back to the communities in which they serve.  One way is through soccer clinics that they organize in the community through their soccer outreach programs.  It’s exciting to partner with Chevy and be able to give back to the community with the soccer clinic.”

Many clinic participants sported RailHawks apparel covered in players’ autographs. Participant’s parents were able to enter a drawing from Chevrolet for gift cards and RailHawks merchandise. At the end of the event, campers and family enjoyed complimentary hamburgers and refreshments in the WakeMed Soccer Park hospitality tent.
