The Carolina RailHawks participated in the St. Baldrick’s event held this past weekend in Downtown Raleigh to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. The event raised well over $150,000 for research grants to help find a cure.
Caleb Norkus, RailHawks Community Outreach Manager, and other fund-raising participants shaved their heads to help raise money for this important cause. Swoops was also there to cheer Caleb and the others on.
“This is my third year participating in the event. It is important to lend a hand to raise money and awareness, but also to brighten the kids’ days,” said Caleb Norkus. “I’m very happy that as the RailHawks, we participate in events that have such a positive impact on our community.”
Carolina RailHawks Community Outreach initiatives are made possible through the support of the Summit Hospitality Group, a premier hotel and restaurant management company and one of North Carolina's largest operators of hotels.
