Last Saturday, the RailHawks hosted the first Homebrew Soktoberfest presented by LoneRider Brewing Co. prior to their September 8th match. Over 600 people came out for a fun evening of beer, music and food and voted for the first ever Soktoberfest champion.

Of the 22 homebrews, the vote came down to a very close race between two beers. Ultimately, the winner was “Lights Out,” brewed by Ken Baseley of the Triangle Soccer Fanatics. Charles Abney of the Triangle Homebrewers came in a close second place with his “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.”

By being crowned the Soktoberfest winner, Baseley not only took home the winner’s mug, but the winner’s prize included four suite tickets to the September 22nd game against Tampa Bay, four RailHawks scarves, and a private party at LoneRider Brewing Co., including a tour and beer, for themselves and 10 of their closest friends.
