The Carolina RailHawks announced today the transfer of midfielder Chris Nurse to the Puerto Rico Islanders. Per club and league policy terms of the deal are not disclosed. In 2012, Nurse returned for his second season with the RailHawks, making 10 appearances while registering 6 starts and 1 assist.
Nurse originally joined the RailHawks prior to the start of the 2011 NASL season and was a key member of the club’s NASL Regular Season Title. In two seasons, Nurse made 20 starts in 30 appearances with 1 goal and 4 assist. Captain of the Guyana National Team, Nurse missed time while on international duty during Guyana’s CONCACAF qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Nurse returns to Puerto Rico where he spent the 2010 season with the Islanders, capturing the USSF-D2 Pro League Championship.
The RailHawks will travel to San Antonio to take on the league-leading Scorpions on Saturday, July 28th at 8:45 PM ET. The match will be shown live at www.CarolinaRailHawks.com/live. The RailHawks will return to WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, August 4th at 7:00 PM when they host the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Prior to the match the RailHawks will host Que Pasa’s Por Una Vida Mejor, a family-oriented fair that includes games, resources, live entertainment, and information on healthy living.
