Summit Hospitality and the Carolina RailHawks held a news conference in preparation for the 4th Annual Hilton Garden Inn Durham Southpoint Community Shield Match that will take place this Sunday, March 4th at 3:00 PM at WakeMed Soccer Park. Dean Linke, Voice of the RailHawks, emceed the press conference that included RailHawks’ President, Curt Johnson, and Assistant Coach, Dewan Bader, Vancouver Whitecaps FC Head Coach Martin Rennie, and Summit Hospitality Vice-President of Operations, Ed Book.
Johnson kicked off the press conference highlighting major announcements around the club and soccer park, including the renewals of WakeMed Health and Hospitals, Eurosport-Lanzera, and RA Jeffries-Bud Light and new partnership announcements including Bojangles and Backyard Bistro, who will join as the new WakeMed Soccer Park concessionaire. Johnson also discussed the on-going updates at the soccer park. The upgrades include the addition of 3,000 seats, four new suites, two party decks, and upgraded team facilities that will be ready in Fall 2012.
