Rennie, Ritchie, Watson and Knighton Return March 4th
CARY, N.C. – The NASL released today the complete 25-week, 112-game schedule for the 2012 regular season. The Carolina RailHawks will open their regular season home schedule on April 14 in a matchup against southern rival Atlanta Silverbacks. The RailHawks schedule will consist of 14 home and 14 away matches where they will face each league opponent twice at home and twice on the road.
The 2012 regular season will see the return of exciting events at WakeMed Soccer Park with fireworks on July 3 and the 4th Annual Taste of the Triangle makes it Spring debut on May 2. Other highlights include RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke facing off against his former club, Puerto Rico Islanders, on May 19 and June 2. The upcoming season will include the RailHawks participation in the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup where they will enter the tournament in the second round that is scheduled to take place on May 22.
“We believe we are bringing our fans an incredible slate of games for the 2012 season,” said RailHawks President Curt Johnson. “The Vancouver Whitecaps FC match on March 4 kicks off 2012 with a great test for our team and sets a great tone for the remainder of the regular season. The home opener on April 14, Independence Day celebration on July 3, and closing the regular season on September 22 will all prove to be can’t miss games for our fans.”
The RailHawks will kick off the 2012 preseason against Vancouver Whitecaps FC of MLS at 3:00 p.m. on March 4. Individual tickets for all RailHawks home games will go on sale February 1 at noon.
