RAILHAWKS AND CRUIZERS HOST YOUTH AT WEEK LONG CLINIC

The Carolina RailHawks and Cruizers recently partnered to welcome more than 60 boys and girls between the ages of 9-14 to WakeMed Soccer Park for a free week-long soccer camp.

The camp was a unique opportunity for young players from a variety of leagues around the Triangle to come together and receive training and instruction from RailHawks players on the RailHawks actual training field. Many of the kids would have otherwise not been able to afford to attend a camp like this.

“This was a continuation of a healthy relationship that we have with the RailHawks,” said Pepe Caudillo of the Boys & Girls Club. We are proud that we can work like this with such a great organization. Many of our participants never played soccer before and were very excited to do this for the first time.  This activity opened the door for those kids, which is great.”

Participants came from the Boys & Girls Club, Durham Soccer League, Raleigh Soccer Club, CASL del Sol, Premier Soccer League and the City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation athletic programs. Each camper also received a free camp T-shirt.

"We are thrilled to be able to hold this free week long clinic which targeted players that would not normally get an opportunity like this,” said RalHawks President Curt Johnson.  “Strengthening our relationships within the Hispanic Community and providing development opportunities for young players are two key objectives for the RailHawks.  Thanks to everyone that participated in this great program!"
